FAQ: Short-Run discs in CD Digipak and DVD Digipak

» What is meant by "short-run"?
Short-run is just another way to say "small" or "low" quantity. For orders of less than 300 units we duplicate your discs because this is the most cost-effective way to provide small quantities of CDs or DVDs. Duplication is a process where the information on your supplied master disc is copied to a blank pre-manufactured CDR or DVDR disc.

» What if I want pressed/replicated discs instead of duplicated discs?
Due to the amount of set-up costs and set-up time required for manufacturing pressed/replicated discs we have a minimum order requirement of 300 units.

» Can you provide graphic design services?
Yes. We can provide you with graphic design services. Pricing depends on the amount of work you require so please contact us to discuss your design needs.

» Will the printing on my Digipak be colour on all sides?
Yes. Even though the standard method of print is 4/0, when the Digipak is cut, folded and glued, there will be colour print on the cover of all panels. When printed 4/0 the only part of the Digipak that doesn't get printed is the *inside* of the spines (and pockets - if applicable). If you would like to have the inside of the spines and/or pockets printed please contact us for details and pricing.

» Do the disc graphics actually get 'printed' on the disc?
Yes. The standard method we use for printing our short-run discs is high-resolution inkjet printing... not sticky labels... and your web-quote will include full colour inkjet printing on the discs. Other disc printing options are available (such as CMYK Offset or Silkscreen printing) but they are often more expensive due to the amount of set-up costs involved. If you would like to explore alternative disc printing solutions for your short-run discs please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

» Can you print on the Digipak 'spine'?
Yes. There is enough room to print on the spine(s) of the Digipak.

» Are other Digipak styles available?
Yes. While the Digipak styles shown here are definitely the most popular, other styles are available. Give us a shout to discuss your specific requirements.

» Are the printed Digipak recyclable?
Yes. All of our printed Digipak are made from eco-friendly materials, are printed in an eco-friendly manner, and are 100% recyclable. The plastic trays are also recyclable.

» What is the standard 'finish' for the Digipak?
The standard finish for our Digipaks is semi-gloss. Other finishes and materials can be provided but will require a custom quotation - please contact us with your specific needs and we will be happy to help you.
