Why is Digipak becoming so popular? One reason is that it
is still quite unique. As long as the majority of CDs and DVDs
are sold in jewel cases and library cases, anything that is
packaged differently has a better chance of standing out from
the crowd. The cost of Digipak has come down a lot in the last
couple of years. The more people who order it, the more
cost-effective it becomes to produce. At the current rate,
within a couple of more years we expect to see Digipak become
the most widely used choice for CD and DVD packaging in the

Introducing The No-Plastic Alternative - The EcoCase
Another reason for the increased popularity of Digipak is due to
it being a more environmentally friendly product. The Digipak
replaces the plastic Jewel Case with printed cardboard - which
is biodegradable as well as recyclable.
Taking environmentally friendly to an even higher
level, CDman now offers a completely plastic-free version
of the Digipak which we call the EcoCase. The EcoCase features a
completely biodegradable disc tray that is 100% paper
recyclable. Available in several colours (clear is not
available) the EcoCase tray weights 50% less than plastic trays
(which cuts down on transport/shipping costs) and is
manufactured with 85% to 90% less CO2 versus a traditional Jewel
